Actually referring to the NV4500s behind the 5.9 cummins in the 2nd gen rams. (Not sure if they were "Ram" at that time but you get the point. That's were I saw that there is supposedly a 13in clutch upgrade. https://www.phoenixfriction.com/p-23...eed-13-in.aspx

I think I'm about to try the half quarter overfill in the Tahoe because compared to my RCSB the trans is still pretty noisy despite multiple layers of sound deadening.

As far as driver skill, the Denali isn't mine so Its not my poor skills! The new owner needs to get on hear and defend himself!

Theres a good bit of information on clutches if you look into the cummins world but my truck weighs 4800 with me in it (according to my local dump). Not +8k so its skewed a little for our purpose.

I will add that the factory nv3500 shifter feels the best on a nv4500 compared to the Hurst/core short throw and OEM nv4500 shifter.

hmm... the stock 3500 shifter works on a 4500?
wonder if my hurst would then work on a 4500

Yep I took the NV3500 shifter off and swapped it directly to the NV4500 with no issues. I was actually about to buy one of those Hurst shifters a couple weeks ago and they were sold out. I hope its not permanent.

Be sure to use factory fluid from the dealership. I'll try to get you the part number but it's very important for the carbon syncros. That's what is in it. It was a little noisy from the day I got it but it never changed.

Oh yeah I've got the part number saved somewhere. That stuff is like $35 a quart and the big coolers I have on my RCSB make the capacity 8 quarts which is kinda ridiculous. I was actually going to ask what fluid you put in it glad you did the OEM stuff it shifts great!

Hard to believe those hurst shifters are sold out with as many bones as they charge for them. I guess they are that good. lol

They are all sold out which makes me think they might not make them anymore.

'Borrow' it off the 408 Denali! You dont need to shift a lot with a big cube motor and its really more of a burn out machine than a gear row'er anyways.
