Default yes, another 60e post, a claim about a bullet proof 60e

I talked to a guy who claims he has 25 years in building gm trannys, i called to ask about some 80Es that he had for sale as rebuilt units, he then asked what i wanted it for and i explained, he said he could build me a bullet proof 60e and named almost everything the level 3 PB has, and then said the 80Es werent all that strong themselves, i explained how i have read numerous cases where built 60s are breaking for us and how 80s seem to be holding, he said his would, just thought i would share this and see if this guy is out there or what the case is, trying to get my ducks in a row before i go for the swap

Has this pro built 60e's for trucks with 500 + wheel horsepower ? Trucks with forced induction? 4x4 trucks ? Heavy trucks ?

Lets see what his answer is .

I think anyone saying 4l80e isn't all that strong themselves is one I would stay away from.

Fun fact: I have heard worse BS from people with even more years in the industry

Just get the 80e. Physical size alone should be enough of an indicator of strength.

Nothing is bulletproof when it comes to a vehicle.

THIS ^^^^

60's last alot longer in a lighter car then in a heavy truck. Nothing is bullet proof, being a exp builder he should know better then to spit that kinda trash. A 80 in stock form is prob as strong as a built 60..

i dont no much about trans personally, so i wasnt sure on it, he also said something about the 60e being lighter because of the aluminum case versus the steel 80e case, i didnt mention to him about walleditions case splitting open i should of asked about that

80E-Steel case.... News to me, mine isn't. This guy sounds like he just doesn't like 80's

You can build a stronger 80 for much cheaper then a built 60e.
