One thing I have not seen mentioned here (and I might have missed it), when converting to an line, the 3/8 inverted flare to -6 fittings I got from earls where too short to bottom out on the flare. I'm assuming no one has cared to notice, put sealer on it and got away with no leaks. But I cut down the threaded boss on the the cooler to make sure the fitting bottomed on the flare as it should.

I just installed the tru cooler. Took longer to get the grill off then actually removing the stock cooler and installing the new one. I removed my intercooler and put the tru cool level with the top of the ac condenser and about 1/2 away from it. So the cooler is about 6 inches above the ic and should have plenty of flow thru and around it.

I used the misc tranny cooler or ele fan mounting kit. Acts like zip ties and quarter sized washers. I swear by these things and always double up on them. Each bag comes with 4 zip ties.

I cut the steel lines in the bottom of the engine bay and ran rubber hose to the cooler. Tranny to radiator to cooler to tranny. It's winter in buffalo and I'm not worried about heating the trans to much. Come winter I will prolly bypass the rad and run the cooler only.

Now I have the intercooler, hood latch frame, tranny cooler, ac condenser and finally the radiator.

I came here from S10forum for this reason. Only one person is running this cooler on a s10 when I asked about it for my upgrade. He mentioned his earl fitting bottomed out so he lathed the hex part on the earls fitting so it tightened down onto the flare. Came here wondering if people have used other brand fittings that have worked without modifying.

Where do we get these EAD mounting and hardware kits? Do they work plug n play on the NNBS trucks as well?

When you guys install the cooler, do you recommend bypassing the radiator all together or using both coolers. My truck has both stock.

I run both. Rad first then the cooler. Im thinking about passing the rad because I don't want 210 coolant flowing w my trans fluid warming it up. My temps are usually 130. Beating on it gets up to 160.

rad first also as it can take the super heat if its gets hot and then the tru-cool cools it off more. also if your up north the rad will help keep it warmer when its below freezing.
