Default Torque converter question

I have access to a lift this week and I have a torque converter that has been in storage for a while. The only mods on the truck are a performance tune, intake, and cat back exhaust. The trans has not been opened up, it will get a shift kit and servos eventually, but not at this time. Will it be alright if I go ahead and put in the converter now and leave everything else as is for the mean time? Or should I wait until I do the headers, shift kit, servos, and cam kit and get is re-tuned? I also posted this in the tuning section, so mods if that's a problem I apalogize.

How loose is the converter?

Its going to soften up your shfits a lot. Personally Id wait until you get the shift kit in.

If you have access to the lift for about two days, do it all...

I need an actual answer, not some smartass remark. The specifics of what I was asking is if it will soften the shift too much and/or create too much heat for my stock transmission and cause a problem. Stop replying to threads that you don't contribute to.

I would do it all, but I don't have time to go buy servos and a shift kit and show up tomorrow morning and get it all done, I'm only talking a couple of hours here.

Putting the converter in now and doing a shift kit later will work, sooner than later is better. With a converter, if its worth its salt will increase the torque through the trans so there is potential to slip it and it will soften up the shifts. More the higher the stall. Shift kits, as you probably know address these two issues. Mechanically/hydraulically increase clutch and band pressures and improve the shift times.

Another vote to install it now.... How high of a stall is it?

I had my shift kit and servos installed before my converter... The shifts were hard my GF complained every time it shifted.... I added the TC and it shift alot softer, my GF was happy then... So in your case I will probably soften the shifts... Do you have a tune? If so are the tranny shift pressures increased? Are you desired shift times lowered? What have you done with your TM?

So Shift kit and servos alone not GF friendly...

Shift kit, servos and TC equals GF friendly....

LMAO.....GF friendly....Ya, I forgot to mention, Tuning will be required. If the new converterter is a lot smaller some adjustments to the misfire tables will need do be done...

+1 on the tuning, my 9.5" TC was a nightmare to tune.... Freakin idle took like an hour, then again I am kinda moronic when it comes to tuning....
