Default TC gone bad or do i need to rebuild my tranny

Sup guys, well i drive a 1997 rc stepside silverado with a 4.3 V6 daily to keep miles and weather off my nnbs. anyways the truck runs great shifts really good and it goes into all the gears no problem.. the problem is when i am at cruising speed around 40-65 mph anywhere in between and it is in OD gear. it will sometimes slip down into the next lower gear for a second or two then slip back into overdrive???? sometimes it wont do it all some times it will do it multiple times..ive noticed it wont do it above 70 mph when my rpm's are higher.. so it makes me believe that it is my TC loosing lockup maybe at lower rpms?? i check my tranny fluid and the color is a nice red and doesnt smell burnt.. So im pretty much asking if any of you guys have experienced anything like this before and what was your situation? P.S. when i first noticed it i said i would drive it till it takes a dump on me but that was 6 months ago lol..

EDIT: did not realize i posted in the Dodge section instead of GM

Could also be a faulty throttle position sensor. Had a '92 Ferd that did the same exact thing and a TPS cured it.

Did you figure out your trans, i have a 97 that is doing the same thing, now for about 17 months, found out it is a fix that can be done in the valvebody. Mine did eventually throw a code, but it took it having this problem for almost a year before it did, probably because i only have a 6 mile city drive to work so truck never got to really stretch out in od on those work trips, but when i drove it on the highway mine does the same thing, and my truck is also a 4.3 v6 97 with the 4l60e.
