Default sway bar ends cracked. is this common?

Just finished installing my new lower control arms, went to reinstall the sway bar, set end of sway bar on ground and it broke off. I noticed the other side was splitting and ready to break off too.

Guess you could say that’s not uncommon enough since I’ve seen ‘em fail too.

Although another OE take-off could be sourced for next to nothing, now would be the ideal time for a beefy upgrade!

thats what i had in mind also. i went ahead and bought a djm 1.5' sway bar. its wierd how these factory ones are made. looks like the end that came off is just like a cap or something. i dont even see any welds that broke or anything.

Yeah 86’d the lightweight stocker before it broke for a hell bent for strong 1.5” solid Hellwig.
Definitely a worthwhile upgrade imho. Safety first with the GF aboard is my motto lol.

Did you notice a big difference in handing? Steering? Im hoping there is. Wasnt a huge price tag. But a oem used one could of been had close to nothing.

Front bars crack at the eyelets commily. Replacing it with an aftermarket one wont make that big of a difference, however no point in goin stock.

I have a hotchkis setup front and rear on one of my trucks, rear made a massive difference

I looked into the hotchkis, but no way i was going to spend 700 bucks. Like you said. Better than going back to stock.
