Default Is replacing shocks a DIY?

I recently dropped my truck and the stock shocks make it ride like Can I replace my shocks myself easily? Basic hand tools and floor jack? Are they under pressure like springs where they will jump off at me? If you can't tell I am a beginner!

Yep. You might want a shock tower tool (holds the shock while you loosen the nut).

if you dropped the truck on your own, the shocks are about 1/10th as hard. Very easy to do.

I had a shop do the drop, but I watched them do it and I know I could have done it myself if I had the tools and equipment to do so. Still very easy?

Yep, still very easy with basic handtools. If you can change your oil you can change your shocks.

Motorsports Authority in Conway. I figured I would just keep my stock shocks but the ride is a little rough so I bought some new drop shocks. Did you get my PM last week?

Piece of cake...hardest part is keeping the front shock shaft from spinning while you loosen the nut. You can hold it with vise grips, channel locks, or a socket that is intended for that purpose.
