the heat is pretty intense down here at the moment, but i have a lift, so i didnt have to do anything on my back. as far as your brace, i couldnt find a way to get it into the slot behind the bracket on the firewall. i made my own, but then i couldnt get it in there. there is a bar under the dash that runs right over the top of the firewall bracket. oh well. its not flexing. i used 8mm bolts with some good sized washers on the firewall side. its not going anywhere.

i got the plate from gibbs and it held itself in place almost perfect with the holes. i just finished up my swap today and everything works perfect. i had a new master cylinder and used slave and had no problem bleeding. i dont see why some of you guys had clutch problems either. i did break a spark plug or 2 because i had to take my headers down to get the exhaust to drop. its all welded together. i was doin it on my back in the heat unfortunately. im glad its over. now i gotta ditch the 3.42s

How did you resolve this? Do you have a part number or some other source for the right piece?

Thanks

Badinfluence I am so glad you are done. I know for a while you were ready to throw in the towel BUT it was all worth it in the end. I remember you saying you were going to do the 410 gears next? What a difference that will make in the performance of your truck.

I think I have one or two more of those plates left as well.

help! i cant for the life of me find the right VSS wires. i had a 4wd so there were a ton of wires hooked up to the transfer case...and the transmission. there are about 4 plugs under there that physically fit into the VSS plug on the T56...but none of them make the speedo work. what color are the VSS wires? is the speedo just not going to work at all untill i get the tune?...i figured it should at least jump around or freak out or something.
