Pull it out and use the second style one. The one pictured it the bushing style I run the ball bearing style. Then again the 99 maybe dirrerant. Any one do a 99 yet that can help him out?

It sounds like you have the same problem I did. Get one for a 98-02 Camaro like 1TRUESS said and it should work.

I know there were 2 different cranks for the 4.8 back in 99 and 2000. One for manual trans truck and one for autos. The 5spd one has a flange that sticks out about a 1/2" more than the auto version. The auto version is like the 5.3/5.7 and later 6.0's. You might have the different crank, although I can't imagine how or why unless your truck originally had a 5spd.

This guy did the swap way back and he ran into some similar problems. Do a search under his name and you'll find more info.

The first thing I would do is bolt up your flywheel with the bell housing and then bolt up the starter. See if it will line up with the teeth on the flywheel when the solenoid is engaged. That will tell you if the crank is right on not.

Just trying to eliminate some variables here.
