Default New 6 speed Allison swap

Anyone here ever try to swap in the new 6 speed Allison tranny? I have a 2003 Hummer H2 and really want this done. Also want to go to selectable 2WD. If anyone thinks they can help with this please let me know.

Thanks,
Tim

A buddy at a Gm dealership said that I should be able to bolt up easily enough, the problem seems to be getting the programming for it.

I would think a 6l80e would be an easier swap, but I don't know about availability since they are such a new tranny. There is someone on here that recently converted an H2 to a manual with selectable 4x4.

Yeah I spoke with the guy that did that one. I want the 6 speed for the durability and for the final over drive gearing. Should really help with the gas mileage and not take away from the start. Was just going to swap gears but I am going to do something with the tranny anyways....so...anybody know who can do this???

4L80E and transfer case will be a lot easier. I am not sure what the 6th speed in the Allison is or how it compares to the 4L80E, but it can't be all that different.

both the 6-speed Allison and the 6L80e require programming that our current pcms cannot handle. the 6L80e requires a standalone controller and the Allison is controlled via pcm in the dmax and bigblock trucks, which have different pcms

So is there a controller out there that would let me swap to the 6l80? Or would it be possible to get a pcm from a truck with one in it and have it programmed to run in my truck?
