Default Need Suggestions...

Hey guys...I think I am almost done with my questions on this 4l80 swap...and I appreciate everyone's help thus far.

I am putting in a stock, low milelage 4l80 from an '04 into my 2wd truck with mods in sig. Probably at least 450 rwhp...maybe more.

I am not going to put in a shift kit yet as I am afraid it will void my warranty. Do I just need to up the line pressure in the tune and shorten the shift time or just leave the tune stock. Also, should I leave some Torque Mgt. in? I am going to be running a big external cooler. Sorry if this question needs to go into the "Tuning" section.

you are swapping a 4L80e into your truck and you are worried about voiding the warrenty by putting a shift kit into it?

I should have been more clear. The place I bought the tranny from gives a 90 day warranty from the time I buy the tranny to ensure it works. I am afraid for if some reason it doesn't work and they see I put in a shift kit, then they will be dicks about it and give me a hard time saying that is what messed it up.

The truck itself is out of warranty...sorry for the confusion.

I'd beat on it a little and wait the 90 days for the shift kit. From all the reading I did on 80e's they're pretty stout. I removed all the tm with mine. I got most of the info from hpt and here/ls1tech.

Thanks for the reply...yeah, I think it is best to wait the 90 days as well.

Did you bump up line pressure when you put yours in?

Yeah, 90 days will go by quick. You can bump line pressure if it is a little sloshy just remember to reset them back when you install the kit.
