lost every gear! help!

I was gonna say pump or fluid leak (no fluid). Usually depending on how quickly the vehicle was parked and how long you tried to get it moving will determine if it needs clutches. I'd have them put new clutches in since they'll be in it anyway.

No fluid leaks or anything. tranny did not need to be rebuilt. of it goes out a year from now so be it but dont have money for a 80e swap. so she will be back on.the road tomorrow and up ans running. Thanks for the input

I would have had new clutches put in anyway. whats an extra 150-200 bucks to have new clutches and make it last longer. Most of the work to change them has already been done once they get the pump off anyway. Just another hour of labor and $100 clutch pack.

I kinda get where h r coming from but at the same time i dont. like i said I'm not a trans guy so i dont know much about them. but if my pump went out and no gear would engage. why would my clutches go bad? No parts in the trans were moving. it still had plenty of fluid just not moving. so there would he no reason for the clutches to burnup. correct me if i am wrong i need to know haha

We understand what you’re getting at, but like you said your transmission has 87,000 miles on it, so while it’s apart it wouldn’t hurt to go ahead and replace any visibly worn components now if you can suck it up.
