It could of been on the edge and just a slight bit of TQ could of broke what ever was on the edge. Just be lucky that it happened close to your house and not half a state away.

Broken pump, or an input or output shaft would be my guess. Funny how they break when your not beating on it. I always ask guys if they had recently been beating on it for this to happen.

mine did the same thing last august. got to a stop sign and it just flat quit pullin all gears. let it sit for a while and it would pull for a few minutes then everything was out. ended up being a clogged filter. trans shop drained it, put another filter in, and filled it back up. $75 and ran fine ever since.

although now it takes a second to grab reverse, and one has to ask where all the shavings came from that clogged my filter solid... so as of right now, gonna go till she blows. or until i get the money for a rebuild. whichever comes first. lol

Ill update this for future reference, the pump ended up blowing apart....the trans shop said it was in a ton of small pieces.....so a new pump later it should be all good to go.
When there is a trans problem, its not always a must rebuild situation like some think.
