Hahaaa! what about the CTS-V converter? It's about a 1500-1900 which is pretty mild. I am looking at it also for the cost. $360 with $100 core included in that price. Part number GM 24242552

Thats actually a 6l90 converter... Need make sue uts got the right spline count, some of the 6l90s have, a different input shaft. Dont remember spline counts off top of my head but when i was looking through the transtar converter catalog there was a differnce in spline count between 6l80/90.... I wouldnt be oposed to a dacco converter either, they usually go through them and update them when they remanufacture them... And i have never had an issue with a dacco converter!! And for 150/w core charge, cant beat it!!!

It fits... I read on another forum that a few guys have installed in the 6L80's and drove like stock and had around the 1900 stall mark.

Interestingly, i got to reading the little instruction sheet that came with my output shaft, they have updated the output shaft to eliminate the 2 ring gears and spacer and 2 snap rings to a solid ring gear hub for the output shaft assembly, and redesigned the output shaft sensor to solid lugs rather than holes....

The one in the old drum was and could see the cracked weld in the back of it, but my "new" low mileage take out was fine... Could have probably run the drum the way it was but i figure while i am in there....
