Just wanting to confirm after reading this thread, that i can upgrade my 2000 to hydro-boost with a 2wd rack and Pinon?

i see some rack and pinon guys chimed in but no official "yes". i have swapped the entire hydro-setup, petal, etc... from a 2005 2500HD duramax, but i have no lines hooked up yet. i have all the rack and pinon lines as well as all the steering box lines, cooler lines everything from the donor.

If all the lines fit you should be good to go!

HydroBoost stops you with a quickness.
Also, the HydroBoost will work without any Manifold Vacuum, which can get scarce under boost.

Can anyone confirm the current hydroboost pedal and pump part number. The original ones are no longer valid.

I have found these:
pedal 15906966
pump 15909826

Remans for that pump part # by cardone are $46 with a $40 rebate on amazon right now ( net $6?!) Pedal is still around $20 on gmpartsdirect if correct.

That is the pedal.
That is the Pump.

Reman's are a 50-50 shot... best of luck.

Might be cheaper to get the pedal from amazon or ebay. GM Parts Direct has terrible customer service and there mark up on shipping is ridiculous...

It's not that the factory pump doesn't work, It's that the resivor has a 3rd port on it. The resivor is not sold separately. Other option is to T into the return line.

Cool. Just wanted to make sure about the part numbers. I will do this at some point. My pump has almost 200k miles on it, and is making a little noise. Probably get one off eBay if the remanufactured ones are suspect.

I didn't look up your part numbers, but there is a hydroboost pump for the 99-02 and a different one for the 03+ (don't know what year up to).. What year is yours?

My truck is a 2003 silvy ss with the original power steering pump and vacuum assist.

Part numbers I referenced are for the power steering pump and not the hydroboost itself. I think they work for 04 and up HD trucks and maybe Tahoe’s.
