I am gonna bring this back to the top.
I am gathering parts to do the swap. I have the booster, and PS pump. For the high pressure lines, which model truck fits the best on a 04 SSS? I have looked at the Avalanche and Silverado lines, but they are different lengths and don't know if the longer length from the Avalanche will be better for routing or a PITA for fit. Now for the brake pedal. If I bought the adapter plate mentioned earlier in the post, would it allow me to keep the stock pedal? Or is that plate just to keep the bolt pattern with the factory holes and location?

 

I ordered everything from a seller on ebay. But I mistakenly ordered a hydroboost setup for a 2000 3500, any ideas if it will still work on my 01? Seller wants me to pay shipping both ways and a 20% restocking fee.

 

Just an FWIW The Pedal Part number 15734409 was superseded by part number 15906961

Its around $29 List price at the dealer... Just in case is any one else is looking

 

Just FYI, I believe these are the correct corresponding ACDelco part numbers.

So, I'm coming away with the fact that hydroboost was not factory installed on any trucks with rack and pinion. Is this correct?

 

I dont think they put hydroboost on a rack and pinion setup, atleast ive never seen one.. i just did my complete hydroboost swap today and my brakes feel SOOOO much better..they feel great now.. i got a new pump for a 2002 2500 hd with a 6.0, all my lines came from the same model truck, and my pedal and hydroboost came from a 2000 3500 with a duramax (it was not a dually).. the only thing that i didnt buy new was the hydroboost and the pedal..

 

Also, i had a question about my swap.. What size vacuum cap did yall use on the intake? The biggest one i had was a 3/8" and it fit but it was pretty tight.. I'm afraid it will dry up and crack cause its stretched soo tight.. Would a 1/2" or 5/8" be better?
