Well after installing my cam, getting a tune and rompin on my truck some the trans is going out.

I start out from a stop and the rpms go up to 4300 then it shifts into another gear....maybe 3rd. After a few rpms, around 400-500 it downshifts again.

My performabuilt is on the way, said it should be here next week.

Think it will last if I baby it?

 

If you don't drive it maybe.

 

Yeah not an option. Its my DD. I have a bike but it doesnt have plates. I've been driving it like this since I drove to Abilene last weekend to pickup my whipple charger.

 

guessing game, but when it's slipping it is coming quick. just baby the hell out of it. You have tuning software? If ya did, bring up the vcm controls and force shifts into higher gears. Good luck, I am on borrowed time myself.

 

I have been driving on my stock trans that does the exact same thing for about 4 months. I guess I am just lucky. But in a few weeks my FLT 5 should be in.

 

Booo. I only have one more week. You guys be positive! Maybe I'll throw some Lucas Trans fix in it. LOL.

 

just when you think you're home free.... KA-PLUNK! You'd better baby it until you see a palette or crate in your yard. Had my share of trans surprises.
