Default Eaton install & new ring pinion

I know I need to get a master install kit. I have seen them at Randy's ring and pinion and other places as well. They have some on Ebay also. Was wondering if this is what I needed or if these are cheap parts on ebay. Here's the link...... If so, I will just get them from a place like randy's or other reputable shop.

I wouldnt buy one off ebay. Makes sure whatever you get has timken bearings in it. Those are the best IMO and quite a few others.

That looks to be the right kit, but I too am a little leery on the bearings. Look for part# LM-603049 bearing, and part# LM-603012 race 2 each required.

Yeah, well I found a few kits on there with the Timkin bearings too, but like you Cody, I am a little leary. I will buy some stuff off ebay, but others I'm a little tentative on.

I think I'd call Randy's. Timken or yukon **** is both real good IMO

Yeah, I think Randy's is the way to go.

Another stupid question. I know search, but this has been brought up a bunch, and never really answered. I just got off the phone with my local dealership and got a price on OEM GM Ring & Pinion 4.10 gears and they were 577.00. I have searched all over and not really seen actual OEM GM gears on the net. Where the heck is everyone buying them. I have had several shops try to pawn off Richmonds and Yukon gears. I will not go back to Richmonds, but have heard good things about Yukon gears but would really like to stay with good ole GM products.

The bearings for a 99-up truck with an Eaton are the same ones a stock rear use. All you need is a kit for a 99-up 8.6 truck, nothing special.
As far as OEM gears go, Randy's has them and they ae the same as you would get from the dealer, just a different box. You can get a good deal on the Eaton and Gears with the MK from him.

Yeah, well, I've already got the Eaton, well, its being shipped as we speak, but I just need the master install kit and 4.10 gears and don't want to settle for a lesser brand ya know.

Yeah, Like I said, just call Randy's. He will have the OEM gears and the Timken master kits. At good prices also. Or you can also try National Drivetrain.
