long story short
u joint came apart drive shaft hit the ground broke
i need a new one but dont know where to get one
and right now i have a 2 peice and i have heard a one peice is better?

You'll want to ask your local dealer. Probably have to buy it all together knowing GM.
But whoever said 1 piece is better didn't know your truck is extended cab. 2 short shafts vibrate less than 1 long piece. Less vibration means less likely hood of breaking.

is it the U-joint at diff??? if it is you probably have a pinion angle problem... my truck is lowered and when i would launch the pinion angle would go up and eventually destroyed my u joint and ruined my back shaft...
i got a new back shaft custom made with all new spicer U-joints for 300 bucks... if you find a back shaft at a junk yard get the front shaft too... they are balanced together so you shouldnt mix match them....
i would probably look into some caltracs if its a pinion angle issue.....
