Well, the front shaft (in my old truck anyway, when it was stock height) is supposed to be straight, and the rear shaft angles down toward the rear.

What angle is it supposed to be? I can't figure out why your rear end is pointing up that far either; even with drop hangers.

ok i was thinking wrong. i thought my pinion angle should point towards the ground only. from what i understand it can point towards the bed as long as its not point up higher than the driveshaft.

looks like 4* shims will put everything just about right????

By shimming the rear axle only you should solve 90% of your problems. A buddy of mine raised his carrier and shimmed the axle, he was running a 5/7 drop on ECSB. You are trying to achieve the same u-joint angle on each end of the shaft.
Try a search for driveshaft angle on the web.

yeah thats what im thinking.ill know more about it after i measure the tranny output shaft tonight. im not sure how far up i will be able to adjust the driveshaft carrier.

from what i understand is i need atleast 1* angle between each pinion and the slip yoke with 1-3* on the pinion below the rear portion of the driveshaft.

Didn't you just buy some caltracs? If so why don't you adjust your pinion angle by loading the caltracs...

as long as its degreed negative from the driveshaft...currently im degreed positive 7* which could be problematic. i read that 6* differences between the u joints is maxbeen runnin it this way for 3-4 years now
