if it were only that easy. i MAY be able to get a degree or two out of it but at the same time it will be loading the crap outa my suspension. shims will move my pinion and the driveshaft at the same time making a bigger difference.

does anyone see a problem with me doing this?? the angles wont be this extreem haha. 1* wont even be noticeable to the eye, but it will put some load on the u-joints. i figure 1* because the theoretically the straighter it is the more power it will put.

i gotta figure out the angle of my output shaft tonight before i can determine what pinion shims i need. im guna set the DS carrier to put my front diveshaft where i want it and shim the rear to the the rest where it should be.

1 nice thing bout reg. cab is only 1 driveshaft! Anyway, I know they have specs for pinion angle. I measured on both before my drop & after., @ u-jt. & driveshaft. Tex, I'm curious, do u have vibration problems or wear u-jts excessively? It's my understanding that GM uses pinion angle to stop from burning up needle bearings, just like Ford offset to do the same. I'm also guessing u didn't or lost or whatever your pre - drop specs. I had never dropped anyhing prior to 04 in sig, so I took measurements for everything before & after. I wanted to verify what I really got outta the 2/4 drop, heightwise. I checked & recorded @ ea. wheel, shock, etc. Plus, I didn't want vibration or abnormal wear & tear on anything.

Then what are you trying to accomplish? If you've been running this way for 3-4 years, and haven't had any u-joint problems, and have no vibrations, why are you trying to "fix" it?

Maybe a dumb ? but you got me thinking about mine with a 4/6. The ? is?? Is this a problem only on ex/cc with 2 piece driveshafts when lowered? I've never payed alot of attention to mine.

because it isnt right...your pinion should never point up from the driveshaft. when you floor it the pinion tries to climb the ring so theres no telling what pinion angle it's seeing under accel.

also, its mostly a traction thing for me. cant get enough of it
