Default C5 Rolling chassis on a 95 regcab short box, call me crazy.

This might sound nuts but i want to put a C5 or C6 rolling chassis with the transaxle on a 95 chevy reg cab short box. I'm almost possitive no one has done this except for Jay Leno and his Tornado but i want to do it. Where there is a will there is a way. But i know i would have to make a custom frame and probally strech and widen the corvette chassis or use some whicked spacers but anywho if anyone would like to help me with this conumdrum i would appreciate it. Or know if it is even possible which i think it is, but have fun answering my crazy question. PS If anyone knows the dimensions of a 95 regcab short box chevy like the wheelbase and wheel width and want not i would appreciate that too. THANKS

I've seen an OBS Chevy with 'vette front and rear suspension before. He just mated it to the stock frame. There are several older GM trucks running around with the vette suspension and drivetrain in them but most are 67-72 or older. Can't say I've seen one done recently but I know it is possible.

Yep, got a buddy that mated a 89 stepside to the drivetrain of an lt1 vette. Truck has a great stance to it and it hooks pretty damn good with those 11 inch wide wheels on back.

This would be the way to go. Modify the truck frame to accept the Vette suspension.

Default getting back to the question

thanks for the replies and i do know of some trucks that have the C4 suspension mated to the origianl frame but i want to use the C5 or C6 suspension with the transaxle in the rear. my reasons i want it this way don't nessisarily make sense cause it would take alot more fabing and custom work but i want to do this cause its my dream to have pro touring pickup that can handle just as well as some sports cars and i want to use the newest and best parts out there to accomplish this goal if i can. but if anyone would know if it is basically not possible then i would appreciate the knowledge but if jay leno can put the same kind of frame assembly in a tornado i think it is possible. but thanks for the input and hope to know some more info soon. thanks

That's fine it just means more fabbing and more money.

You can accomplish this with C4 parts, it just wouldn't be the NEWEST pieces. Are you planning on using an LS1 or LS2 (maybe LS7) engine?

Everything is possible, you just need to get hooked up with the right shop

Below: 93 silverado, LT1, Corvette front and rear supsension, Belltech drop, done by Boyds - I would think that this handles pretty well.

Default thanks for the info

thanks for the replies and i probally will go with the c4 suspension but who knows. its just an idea for now but getting to the engine i will be sooner or later putting in an ls1 based engine, (a ls7 would rock but) and i've been looking at those c5 n c6 suspensions and the only problem i really see is the length. the width looks fine and would just need some different backspacing or spacers but on the length i don't really know how i would go about lengthening the direct drive shaft from the engine. it might be as easy as getting someone just to weld an extension or could be very hard and cost to much. but if anyone would know the specs on that direct drive shaft to the transaxle i would appreciate. i know i'm asking more questions about corvettes than trucks but you know what i'm going for. so anyway thanks for the replies.
