Default C-notch- frame sag???

I put a McGaughy c-notch on my truck. I did what the instructions said. Now the rear bolts on the bed have a gap. I don't get it.

Otherwise the truck looks good. I don't know if it has settled completely. I have a 4/6 drop on the drivers side and a 3/5 on the passengers side. It is suppose to be a 4/6. ??? I still need to put fuel in the tank. The tank is empty. I hope it does not drop any more.

When I notched mine, I left the bed on and only did one side at a time. I don't know if that made a difference or not, but I have no frame sag.

The drivers side is going to be slightly lower then the passenger side because a good bit of the weight is on the drivers side, a big one being the fuel tank. I never run more than half a tank in mine because of the lean. I know some have put a shackle on the passenger side to drop it an inch more to level it out, so that is an option.

My friend and I did one side at a time, and put a jack under it. It sags about 1/2 inch on the back 2 bolts of the bed.

How hard was it to install the c-notch with the bed in place?

Fairly easy for me, and it was the first time doing something like that. This was on a stepside if it makes a difference.

What did you use to cut the frame?

When I bagged my truck, I had the bed off and did one side at a time with a 2x4 shoved under the end of the frame to keep it from sagging before I got the notch on it. AFAIK, my frame is completely straight, but the AirRide Technologies notch is pretty beefy.

To cut my frame, I used a drill to make the top corners of the notch, then cut between the lines with a cut-off wheel and a sawzall. After I had the cut done, I went back over it with a 4" angle grinder to smooth everthing out.

Cut off wheel. A sawzall works well too.
