couldn't i just use vice grips on the pin and use a hammer and tap it out? like if i put the accumulator housing in a vice and taped on the vice grips?

That would work but you can pick up a punch set rather inexpensively, id be leary of putting an aluminum housing in a vice....

so how would i go about removing the pin in the accumulator housing, i just can't wrap my head around what you are saying. how would you use the punches?

ok so doing a quick search on google it does look like there is a small hole in the top of the housing, correct?

parts arrived yesterday. just need trans fluid and a filter kit then ill be doing this.
