Default 4.8 5spd clutch

i went to the dragstrip friday night the clutch was working awesome no slip no noise drove it home fine wake up sat hop in the truck push clutch in while in first to start chatters really bad kind a lurches from a stand still in neurtral running it wont go into 1st or reverse very easily with out chattering but shifts thru gears with no problem driving down the road and chatters at red light in 1st and 2nd with clutch pushed in do you guys think its the clutch or the tranny and what clutch is the best to buy street/strip with bolt on only im looking at the spec stage 1

Wonder if you overheated it and maybe warped something. Do you have a link or anything for the spec clutch you found...

And what did you run at the track?

heres some "............." use them in your mile long sentence,


try bleeding your clutch , changing your fluid, or push the pedal harder

the links was just specclutches.com and i only ran a 15.2 on street tires

.....10-4 on that. sorry i was in a hurry. i'am pushing the clutch all the way, and when i double pump the pedal it shifts easier, thought it maybe just the slave on the throwout bearing. the truck has a 120,000 on the stock clutch ive been beating the out of it since i bought it. how do you bleed these slave cylinders i dont see a bleeder like we run on our race cars. thanks

there is a bleeder attatched to the slave, you can access it through a hole in the side of the front portion of the transmission

This is a picture of when my slave over extended. The two holes you see are on the drivers side, and the TOP one is where the bleeder is.

May want to take a gander at your master cylinder as well. I installed a new clutch set back in march and had similar problems. I bleed the system and installed new fluid and it helped it out a lot. Pretty much elimanated my problem.
