Default 2/4 Drop Questions for Tire Size

I am looking to do the 2/4 drop on my extended cab sierra, and i currently have GM 20's with 275/55R20 Goodyear LS2 Tires. My buddy has the same wheels and tires, he had an appointment to do a 2/4 drop, and they said they couldn't do it because of the tire size. So, i am looking to get some 22's and was wondering what tire/wheel combo people have with 22's and the biggest that fit with this drop kit.

You can go with any size tire for the 22's and up to a 40 series sidewall on a 2/4 drop. The biggest size I've seen in a 2/4 was 305/40/22's witch filled all the gap.

I know you have to run a 265/35/22 for a 4/6 but im not too sure on the size for a 2/4. I posted up about this and had someone say that 265/40/22's or 285/35/22's would be best.

I think the most popular is the 265/40-22.....Every shop I've talked to recommends this size (I've considered 22's in the past)

Not sure on specs of tires that have been suggested above, however I do know that on my 2/4 the tires I was running at the time bottomed out BAD on the front. They were 31.2 in diameter (or height) and 11 in width. I still run that on the rear w/o problems though.

And yes...I know, I know...why am I still running stock wheels?

I have 265/40/22's and i like em. I dont have my drop yet but my next set of tires will be 285/35/22's if i stick with the 2/4 idea. If not, it will be 265/35/22's with a 4/6.
