Default 1500 4wd power capabilities

I'm sure the info is out there, if someone has quick links, I'd appreciate a link.

I am looking to build a new little truck for a daily/weekend warrior. Most likely will have a 5.3 in it. My end goals are to be around 600whp.

How well do these axles and transfer cases hold up to abuse? 4x4 launches and what not. I'm no stranger on building a solid IFS setup for racing, I just have no idea on the strength of these drivetrains.

If the truck clicks off mid 11's in 4x4, I'd be thrilled.

I would absolutely love to stay 4x4 as it snows here and 2wd is near useless.

Rear driveshaft if aluminum isn't rated for over 100mph or huge power. The stock rear G80 is weak too. The axles in the rear are strong enough to handle what you want.

Not if you keep the CVs level to slightly negative. My coilover conversion brackets will help with that and improve the ride tremendously over the torsion bars if that interests you. Check out the links in my sig for more info!

I put 1000ish rwhp through the stock front end with slicks. Its tough as long as you treat it right.

I come from the duramax diesel world. I know all about keeping the IFS happy. My duramax made 1200whp and 1900ft/lbs. All that ran through stock t-case, axles, cv's and diffs in a full weight 7000lb crew cab. Was cutting high 1.6x's on street tires.

I'm happy to hear these 1500 drive trains are healthy if treated right.

Yep, youll spin the tires before you break parts, just dont try to shift in and out of 4wd under power.

My initial plans were to use the 4l60e and buy a quality built one. But it seems the more I read, the more the 4l60e seems doomed. Most likely need to have a 4l80e in there.
