I have kind of a similar setup. I drilled and tapped the rear of my tank for my second pump, except I ran my hose straight to the frame side instead of the driveshaft side. I'm still using a walbro intank as my main pump, then the second walbro kicks on at 6psi boost. I have my second pump/line going all the way to its own inlet on the fuel rail crossover, never had any issues running almost 1000hp on e85 and stock rails. And that tank is beefier than you'd think. I put a good amount of torque on the 1/2"npt fitting while installing it with no sign of pulling the threads out.
