With higher pressure the pump has to work harder as Pat pointed out, and some injectors dont like to operate at higher pressures. Lot of the crazy high boost 4cyl guys have to run low base pressures so the injectors still operate at high boost.

Look at my stickied thread in the fuel injector section if you want more info on injector flow vs pump flow. Its all a balancing act.

Methanol injection is its own separate beast, more or less done independent of the main fuel system. Main fuel base pressure has no effect on meth injection.

That I understand, but the way Pat worded it, it sounds like he lowered his pressure for a problem that he is expecting to have in the future.

I knew my pump wouldn’t keep up at 58 psi base, that’s why I am adding another. The fuel demand increase between 6500 and 7000 is pretty decent.

Bringing up old thread.

When I dropped my truck off at Nelson's to get the new engine installed, he mentioned that they do no use boost reference in any of their power adder builds. They set to static 60psi and tune accordingly... The truck is setup for boost reference, but they will be providing the tune once all work is done. I have HPT for once i get the truck back, but I am curious how this will work.

I get the injectors will be scaled differently to compensate, but I only have 60# Deka and a DW350iL pump. Wondering how this will pan out.

That's pretty dumb if they can easily reference manifold pressure. Basically the injectors shrink as boost goes up since the pressure differential gets smaller.

Crashmymax, do you have any of the part #'s for
all that fuel rail stuff ? it would help others get the

There is a link in the beginning of the thread to the guy I got the rails from. Just call or text him with your year make and model and he will send you a link.
