Default exhaust pipe routing??

ok i've been looking at doing a alittle exhaust work to help my cam out a little and i'm thinking about how to route it. there is a cross over bar that goes over the rear of the tranny or more driveshaft area right after my stock y pipe come together and the stock exhaust goes around this thing and then bend this way and that way is there anyway (it look like i could) to route the pipe (3") between the bar and the bed/cab so its more striaght back instead of the mulitple bends? will it work will it couse alot of drone or just a little more heat right there that can be fixed with say a heat shield. it would be no closer than the y pipe is already.

I think your truck is too slow to need exhaust. LOL

It will sound simular to the way it does now, but it will be louder inside. If you get a Magnaflow muffler and dump it will be alright. You could even still run it out in front of the tire. I'm getting my Magnaflow put on today and will be heading to the track tonight. San Antonio Raceway is a good track, I just wish I would have brought my bottle. I'm guessing 16.2@88 with a 2.4 60'. With spray at least I would have been in the 14's.

Well lets get that turbo on when I get back. I'll weld it up and I still have the down pipe we can put on. We can take your stock Y pipe and use the bends to make an under hood kit, or use the semi STS way we were going to do.

I got over 20 most of the way, till I started going 80+ then it was only 19.6.

I got the Magnaflow on and it sounds really quiet. Not alot louder than stock and its strait through. I guess we'll see how she runs tonight.

What do you need an oil pump for? You wont need one for the turbo because it will be nearly a foot higher than the oil pan, so it can gravity drain. We could seriously have that thing on in one day. Dont be afraid to do it simple and cheap first till you can slowly buy the expencive charge pipe. What are you going to do about compression too?

i need the pump becouse going up hills and stuff the turbo wont be above the oil pan anymore and wont drain and will leak into the turbine and compressor. i'm gonna buy pistons and rods for the ls1 and turn the crank and rebuild then i'll be able to push all i want or all my turbo will push anyway lol.
