Default Am I crazy to try this?

So I am in the process of collecting parts to finish my fuel system in my 2000 Silverado with a turbo 5.3

I am hoping to make around 750-800hp all said and done and want to make sure I will have enough fuel as I don't want to run into issues.

I just purchased an 05 tank and bucket for cheap so I can fit dual 450's without hacking the bucket. But now my question is if stock lines and filter will be capable of supporting dual 450s at 800hp or if I should I just plan on running a -8 line to the front and use stock feed as a return? If using stock feed as a return what are you guys doing about the stock fuel filter?

Right now my fuel system is as follows:

05 tank and bucket
Dual 450's
Edelbrock proflo rails fed into the back of one with a -8an crossover
Aeromotive 13129 reg.

Also since this reg only uses -6 fittings should I just run -6 out of the rail to the reg? Or should I uses -8 from pump to rails to reg with just the -6 return?

Thanks

850 crank or wheel hp? I've done -6 line 1000hp on e85. If you running corn you have to run a flex fuel filter and ya you can use factory feed as a feed or a return. Whatever works I'd try to make your feed and return same size tho so the regulator can do its job more effectively. When your just cruising around.. Hope that helps

i am single 450 -8/-6 return billet 100mic filter 60lb injectors a1000 reg 91 and meth well in your power range turned up 43lbs base 1:1

I was on single 450 in tank 6lbs stock line and filter returnless nnbs rail
it was hard to tune because my pressure was high and not 1:1 with boost but my fuel was there never got out of the 11.2 11.4 range wot

so I would run your setup like mine it was easy ran a -8 fitting from stock outlet -8 to reg -8 to rail returned out of the bottom of the reg -6 to the top of the tank drilled a hole and ran a billet fuel bulk head I have no leaks and no fuel starve issue what so ever

are you wanting to run e85 is the only reason I see to need 2 450's I am on 91 in the Midwest with 60's and meth and my injectors are at like 40%dtyc

It will be on pump 91 and water/meth as we cannot get e85 anywhere around here

I would like to do 800whp

I just want to make sure that I have enough fuel, I have heard that a single 450 will support 750 on gas with no issues, I just wanted to be positive that I never run out of fuel.

Injectors are Siemens Deka 80's

Let's just put it like this...if you think you're the first to do something, you're probably not.

I think I remember you trying to run dual 450's on stock lines? How did it work?

the stock feed line and filter are fine.

The stock return line is a restriction.

I've already priced out all the fittings and line for -8 return from my Aeromotive regulator back to the tank and it's going to be around $200.

Ok well I guess I had better just do a -8 feed and use stock feed as a return , then there is no question
