Cherry, good luck with the procharger. I already tried a F1-R on my 408 and had custom brackets made due to the stock brackets flexing and allowing the belt to walk off the ribs. I also had a manual tensioner so that I could really tighten down on the belt. I spent probably $2000 on belts in about 6 months. I would chunk belts in burn outs, @ the 60' and anywhere down the track and only got about 3 or 4 full passes out of it. I dont think that the 8 rib would do much different, Cog I believe would help. I would say go turbo or twin turbo. I think I am going to make a twin kit for the escalade over the winter. I still have the custom brackets I made for the procharger if your interested, here is a ferw pics i can find of the bracket

I bet the reason it was throwing belts was because you had a manual tensioner. For a supercharged application you need a spring style tensioner. As you get higher into the rpms the belt begins to stretch and you need a tension that will take up the slack when this happens. I have the 8rib an was having bad belt throwing problems from the begining. I ended up getting a gates belt tensioner and larger idler pulleys to take up the slack with the belt. I have not had any more problems. I have made many wide open blasts and short burst hits and no belt issues and no slipping.
On another note, that bracket you had made was awesome. I think the easiest way to go cogs would be to change over to vette accesories and get the ATI perfromance cog system or to have a new bracket made to push the blower forward and run a cog off the front of the balancer, which is what I think I am going to do in the future whan I go to the F2
