Default whats the best exhaust setup for a turbo 6.0?

well , the idea of turbos just wont leave me alone, every time I see threads, trucks, vids , or even look at my truck I wish i have a turbo

so, Ill start with an exhaust,

I bought a Borla XR-1 3.5" in/out and 16" case oval
will 3.5" be suffecint for 600whp? or should I go with a full 4"?

the motor is a 2008 LY6 9.6 or 9.7:1 CR stock L92s ,stock intake, ported TB, and cammed , will cahnge the cam shaft later if needed

if the borla isnt good for turbos , what should I get?

also how about a diesel exhaust?( i want a single out exhaust)

I have 3" exhaust into a single in dual out straight through muffler, and it still seemed very restrictive. So I installed an electric cutout at the end of the down pipe and built boost a LOT faster and gained a good bit of power. No matter what you do I'd recommend using a cutout so that you can have your quiet or semi quiet exhaust for daily driving, and when you want to play open the cutout up. Best of both worlds.

A single 4" with a diesel muffler would be the best, but a 3.5" down pipe going into that 3.5" XR1 would work just fine. I wouldn't dump it unless you want it loud.

I agree... 3.5 will do the truck but 4" would probably be better. It's tough to keep 4" exhaust quiet though.

I just put 4" on mine. Not for sure what it sounds like yet as I haven't fired it.

I've got a pair of 4" borlas for sale of youre interested...they're the 12" case xr1s, I was planning on running them back to back on my truck but decided to go diesel muffler instead. I don't have a turbo but I'd have to agree that 4" would be your best bet, even on smaller engines a single 4" exhaust works well.

Do you have a sound clip of the Borla's on your truck. I will be going 4" just not sure what muffler yet

edit.
just read you didn't use them. still sound clip with the diesel muffler?

Haha sorry man, don't have it installed yet. Gotta sell the borlas before I can cough up the cash for the new muffler. I'm running a dual in single out magnaflow right now and I'm not happy with it at all. I was going to install the borlas but decided I would rather have a corsa diesel before I ever installed them. If they don't sell before I get the 80e in the truck I'll more than likely install them.

For a turbo 6.0, I wouldnt go smaller than 3.5". Any more than 4" (depending on the turbo) would be more than enough.
