Default wastegate question?

when the truck was idling i was hearing this funny tinging kind of sound. so i started to cover up the wastegate dump and it was sucking air in? is it suppose to do that? and when i covered it ( not completly ) the sound went away so i figured it was caused from the air being drawn in... sorry this was baffling me all day...

IIRC, the STS comes with a Tial.

The WG should be shut at idle, so you shouldn't feel anything coming in or out.

Pretty sure he's talking about the blow off valve. Sound like you have it on a stock motor and has more vacuum then the other setup. You probable need a stiffer spring in it or adjusted (tightened) if it's adjustable
