Are you guys just direct mounting the filters to the inlets, or has this caused any higher IAT's?? I have seen some use 90 degree elbows but i kinda like the direct mount approach

Direct to the turbos (see picture in sig). The Intercooler seems to take care of any minor AIT increases.
I've thought about adding 90's and some 3" to put the filters in a cooler location but my AIT's stay about 7-10 degress above ambient so I left them alone. I think it looks cleaner on the turbo.
Another benefit if you do add any kind of extension to the filter mount is it will give so some room to vent a catch can back into the intake track to suck up any blow-by.

Here's my setup. I have since removed the catch can and just run open vented valve covers, works best for me. Also the filter is always cool to the touch now, when it was mounted to the turbo it was always very hot, with a 90 bend it was better, but still pulling air from the top of the engine bay. Here in South Carolina it gets hot, so I try to help the intercooler out as much as possible. You have to remember under boost these engine are taking in a LOT of air, I don't want my turbo acting as a heat extractor removing all that hot air.

Mine is similar to fooses setup. Mine has a 90* off of the turbo, and a 45* down behind the headlight. My cold side is black, so I bought some 4" diesel exhaust, welded it up, ground off the welds, and painted it to match.
