They arent bad to work on w a v8 at all. The whole front end can be on the ground w about 15 bolts. They are small, but blown has a racetruck, not a daily or even weekend cruiser. According to some, he cant even drive to the line...
I'm gonna paint a "line" a few hundred feet down the street and when this bitch fires, I'm gonna drive to it. This bitch will "drive to the line on a public road". lol
I saw on instagram earlier today where procharger was posting about powering the quickest 14+ truck (with GenV motor). I think it ran 11.teen around 120 or so. Pretty cool, but don't recall ever seeing the truck anywhere else on the net. Would like to read up about it. Anybody know who's it is and if there is a build thread anywhere?
It looked like a fairly complete truck so I'm sure it's heavy as hell.
Crazy how technology is. These GenV motors seem to respond insanely well to FI. It took me a while to run that good with mine, and I'm sure mine was lighter and a lot more "race oriented".
Guess I'll post mine in here just for grins since it was mentioned above!
For those that haven't seen it's a 2015 Silverado 5.3l with a D1sc that made 647/591 on 14psi. Ran it at the track the other day and went 11.19 @120 and was kicked out, race weight was 4790lbs. Also, the run was made in the shitty Arizona air lol
Mods:
D1SC with a 3.85 6 rib pulley
1 7/8 longtubes/Catless Y pipe/3" exhaust
Custom cam- 219 230 114 33% fuel lobe
Circle D 2c converter
Lt4 injectors/lt4 highpressure pump/external pump for the lowside fueling
Stock Rear/3.42 gears/stock trans
The highside pump is maxed out at the moment due to me being on e85. Doing a meth kit in a few weeks and going to pull a little weight out of the truck and hopefully click off a 10.99 at the Streetcar takeover event in Kc next month.
I'll whisper this as a side note (I'd like to see a similar build with a 2.9 whipple)
I'd like to see him upgrade to a F series and push 24 lbs of boost through it. If he ended up being able to make a couple good runs to dial it in, I might would be in the market for a new truck. lol
Posting up a link to an old thread to get others excited about Prochargers.
I was searching for some old threads of mine to get suspension info for another member that was pm'ing me and I ran across this old thread and thought I'd like it over to hear. Procharger getting it done roll racing some street cars. At the time, the truck was running 10.90's around 125-126. This was on the 4/6 drop with QA1, but I was running the bone stock wheels and stock General tires that the truck came with. Truck worked good on the street even with those **** small *** tires. This was probably the last time the truck was on the street before I went full retard. Fun times for sure.
The links to the youtube bids are at the bottom of the first post. This are vids taken from the chase car (Vortech blown WS6).
I dunno, I go back and forth about Whipple, PC and turbo. I love my Whipple but I wouldn't mind riding in a similar setup of each, just as a comparison.
If I get rear-ended again, I'm getting something newer. I already told the wife.
