Default Radix J Tube... 5 bolts or 6??

DrX posted a pic of his Radix off the truck and it had 5 bolts holding the J tube on.

I've finally managed to get the middle bottom back bolt out and I've bent up a 12mm box end wrench to fit under the cowl so I can get the top bolts out but...

If there is as 6th bolt, in the back, bottom, under the j tube then I'm just screwed as relates to getting the j tube off the truck with the sc still in the truck.

So, what's the word? 5 or 6 bolts on the back of the Radix J tube?

Thanks, Jim (if there's five I'll have the 90mm tb up & running in just a few days as my machinist genious friend make time to weld the corner on the flange, make a hole and elongate a couple other holes... PLEASE tell me there's 5 )

This sounds dumb I know but I achieved a real thrill by getting that job done on my own. It was a bitch and by god I did it. I didn't have to go for help. I've never been very "handy" but I did it and that's a big deal.

Now to get the j tube off there and get it altered.

Thanks Brian! Jim

New Question: Which Perma Tex product will work the as well as the Loctite 510 that is recommended to seal the J tube back onto the sc.

GOT the locktite.

My machinist says he'll be able to weld on the "EAR" and port the j tube by Wed for sure. Then the next week the Pacesetters w/cut out and wb guage will get installed.

Following that I can go see Zippy to install the heads, cam, meth kit, radiator, mjhowards cool extra large heat exchanger, and put a bad *** tune on it all.

5.7... thanks for th tip!

Brian.... You mentioned in another thread that the Corvette 90mm tb had a groove machined in for a gasket but mine does not (ordered the part # in your thread). I'm wondering if I can just seal it with the Loctite 510? Or would making a gasket be better?

When using the 510 is it spread all over or is it best to lay down a bead and let it spread from the pressure of bolting the part on? Thanks, Jim

lay a bead, don't smear.

I currently am using just the loctite on the TB but now have gasket material that I am cutting up. Got it from summit. The TB sits fairly tight on the flange but a more forgiving gasket seems to me to be a better choice.

I think I'll get some gasket material.

The groove for the seal can be machined into the flange as on the LS2 intake.
