Default 14 bolt swap. 1350 u-joint driveline that's 27 spline slip yoke? Does it exist?

I'm swapping a 9.5" 14 bolt into my 2000 Silverado. I'm trying to figure out the driveline. At first I was planning on using a conversion u-joint but now that I'm thinking about it I think it would be silly to add all that strength in the rear only to use a hybrid u-joint.

My next thought was to weld a new yoke on to the driveline and convert it to 1350 u-joint. I have to take about half an inch out of the driveway anyway. That would leave the front slip joint with a 1310 u-joint.

Next up, I thought okay then, let's upgrade the front to 1350 as well. Now I'm building an entirely new driveline. LOL.

So my question is this, is there a factory GM driveline that has a slip joint on it that's 27 spline and uses a 1350 u-joint? If so, how do I find it? Even if I have to shorten or lengthen it, it would still be cheaper to find a driveline than to build an entire new one I think.

Thanks y'all.

I've been thinking about this a bit more. Here's a link to the truck at the rear axle came out of. I think it's 2WD, I think it maybe even a 2WD SS. If I buy the rear driveline out of this truck do you think that it's slip shaft yoke is splined correctly?

I'm not sure about this, if it's an extended cab truck like that does it have a carrier bearing? Or, is it just the driveline like I currently have except longer?

You are 4wd, right? I thought the tcase output was 32 spline...either way when I called driveshaft specialist in dallas I told them what I had and they knew what to use.

Yes I'm 4WD. For some reason I have it in my head that I'm 27 spline. I'll count later today and confirm.

Do ya happen to know what configuration of truck got a carrier bearing or not? I'm considering buying the driveline out if the truck I got the rear end from. I figure it's easier to shorten that driveline than build a new one. I'm just not sure if it's a 2 piece driveline.

I dont think the rear end cares if the dshaft has a carrier bearing in front of it. My ext cab 4wd was a 72" one piece...

I know the rear end won't care. What I'm saying is, mine is one piece. I'm considering buying the driveline that went with my 9.5" 14 bolt. The problem is that I have to ship it here. I'd hate to order it and find out it had a carrier bearing. That wouldn't work for my application.

I think you're underestimating the conversion U-Joint. There isn't much left to chance with these. This one is for a 14-bolt out of an H2 to fit the stock 10-bolt shaft:

The extended cabs can have either a carrier bearing or the explode-o-matic Suburban single piece shaft. Luck of the draw as far as I have seen.

I also used the conversion joint when doing the 4L80 swap to keep the stock driveshaft. It has been in 6 years without a problem. However, if you are having a new shorter drive shaft made, the road you are going down makes sense.

If possible I would go with the non-conversion joint just for piece of mind with a solid Spicer XL.

That being said, I have that conversion U joint on mine and I know several others have and I've yet to hear of any Ujoint or shaft breakages with the stock 2 piece. It still crosses my mind at the track though.

I have that conversion joint. I always have the hardest time trying to grease it
