i wasnt going to spend 400 on a hd tensioner setup so i went and got the actual gates tensioner for 100 bucks and made my own bracket. let me know what you guys think. this is more or less a prototype piece. i wasnt going to go crazy with geometry and programming it and it not fit or something dumb. all in all i got 3hrs into it

I got the tensioner itself from magnuson, which really is just a gates tensioner, or at least it stared life a one. The problem is you can only bolt that on to one of their kits. I've got the roush so the magnuson brackets would be needed and they are another 300 on top of the $100 tensioner

I think the bracket looks great. How is your belt tracking with it thus far? I have already bought the Gates tensioner and was going to build my own bracket too when I do the 8-rib swap. I do not have machining capibilities so mine was going to be some 3/8" flat plate and spacers. Your design looks much sturdier. If you are willing to make one more, I would like to try it.

I was quoted $475 from Magnacharger for the full non-maggie tensioner setup. The actual tensioner itself is Gates 38518 ($88.79 at RockAuto).

Thanks
The belt I have on in the pics is a couple inches to long so I haven't ran it with this yet. I'm going to grab some belts after work today. If you need help with making your own I could share some of my measurements. I'll pm you later.
475 is just crazy. That and I hate castings lol. A nice hogged out block is much better imo. I bought a tensioner for 30 bucks for a big detroit diesel and its just like the 38518 but instead of springing counterclockwise it is clockwise... Failed attempt to make this project even cheaper lol
Thank you. Just curious, would this apply for the non sponsor sale section (i forget what its called) if I were to one day make these?
