Good tune and good gas for sure. My old 4.8 with TVS1900 ran 16psi all the time and with a new belt and cold air it would hit 18-19. Ran it 2 years and 25k miles like that pulled it for a bigger motor. Pump 93 and an Atomic tune plus it was a 2005 so gen 4 rods.

The few times I've heard detonation was with sketchy fuel, I try to always fill up at a local station that sells a ton of 93 and has good quality fuel backed by a name brand. I personally use BP 93 with great results, occasionally I have to fill up else where so I add a little bottle of insurance to the tank. I sure doesn't hurt to be safe. Lol...

I use BP in my vehicles in general. I seem to have pretty good luck with them, but being that they don’t carry E85 (around me anyway), my options are a little more limited. Though I’ll definitely use tier 1. Lol

Fuel aside you still have a max torque limit your rods can hold

and cast pistons can't take the same abuse as forged

realistically you can run as much boost as you want. You just risk damage. E85 isn't always 85. I thinks it's E40-E90, so a flex fuel sensor is suggested

I'd stick around 12 and run extra timing. Better cooling, blower isn't being worked too hard, fueling is easy, Trans is probably ok and tires will last longer

I agree on the E85 being not exactly consistent. I’ve also seen where it tends to have more frequent issues with water, whether it being related to the separation or maybe the fact that there aren’t as many purchasers so it sits longer.. idk.

And after doing some research and such I think 11-12 will be what I’m going to shoot for.. it should wake it up pretty well. I’m just waiting for the rest of the parts to arrive. Tick tock... !!

Going from no boost to 12psi should make it feel like a raped ape. And then a week or so down the road it will feel slow and you will want 22psi lol
