KB Low-Mount Intercooler Pics?
#1
Anyone have pics of their low-mount between the frame rails intercooler kit that KB supplies? I'm curious how it mounts and what kind of airflow it can actually get. Thanks!

There isn't much room behind the grill on 99-02 trucks. It takes some serious modifications like cutting out the hood latch support and cutting the inside of the grill.

It doesn't need a lot of air flow to work, it's a big heat sink. The air is only hot and needs cooling when your in boost, not all the time. The rest of the time it's in recovery with plenty of time to dissipate the little bit of heat it just absorbed for it's large size. Here is a pic of mine and I can show you 100's of IAT logs with very low IAT's at even 15 PSI of boost.

Thanks for the pics. But the stock 99-02 Silverado lower valance doesn't have any holes in it for air to pass through, so it seems like whatever air it gets will have to be from what comes from underneath. Anyways, as long as you're not in boost a lot of the time it should have plenty of time to dissipate the heat regardless.
