Default Found a problem with drain oil to the valve cover.

Ok this weekend I found that draining the oil to the valve cover might not be the best idea.. On a steep decline, the truck likes to smoke. A bunch. Guess I will be moving it some as I can get to it.

So that's your return line plumbed into the top of the valve cover?
Maybe it will work in another location on the cover, the STS system dumps it back into the cap, I know you probably don't want to do that but maybe its where it dumping it, not the fact that its dumping it onder the valve cover?
Do you know exactly what is under that peticular spot on the cover?

He is using gravity to dump the oil back there, where the STS is using a pump. It's hard to get oil to run up hill

So gravity VS pumping why would it be smoking?
Running into the top of a leaky valve seal?

When he goes down a long hill, the tube that the turbo is draining though, is then running up hill to the valve cover and oil is backing up into the turbo causing it to smoke. I think that's what he is talking about.

"I see" said young Grasshopper, "now it makes sense".
Thanks for the clarification.
