D1-SC with 255 Walbro
#1
Hi Guys,
Just wanted to make sure I was going to be covered with my setup. I have a 5.3l and am getting ready to install my ProCharger D1-SC. I am going to be running 60 lb. injectors with a 255 lph Walbro in-tank pump. I am just wondering if the pump will be enough for my setup. The truck is an '04 model and I am completely stock right now except for a Hooker muffler.
I figured the 255 would be enough, but I have a friend with a Supercharged Vette who said when he was at 425 hp N/A he was seeing a drop in pressure and then it would get steady. I am wondering if I need a BAP or if you guys are doing OK with just the 255 in the tank. I will be running 9-10 psi and I think will be close to 400 whp.
Thanks for the help.

The motor is bone stock... with the exception of TR6 plugs. I have a lot of faith in my tuner so I am not worried about the engine with 60 lbers and a fairly conservative tune. The tranny on the other hand....

Good luck only making 9-10 psi. I had basically your exact set up and saw 12 psi on the dyno and 14psi on the street during the 1-2 shift. What I'm trying to say is that a D1 with the supplied 4" pulley on a stock 5.3 will make more boost than you want.
I also had a broke piston in 2 days. Be careful, make sure your tune is perfect, or you'll be in the same boat I was in.
You can search for some of my older posts and read up on it.
