Man, try a search on the Ti retainers, I remember I read some time ago that those won't save much. Unfortunately I don't remember in which forum I read it, but the guy even showed pics on a digital scale and the savings were like 2 or 3 grams for the whole set, maybe less, I'm not 100% sure on the exact weight difference but it was close to nothing I'm sure.
Try a search before you spend $$$ on them.
I remember cause I was considering when I did my cam swap but after looking at the pics I installed the stock ones. Hope someone else can confirm.

2-3g for the whole set sounds a bit low, but then again, IDK. If that's all it is, I certainly can't justify it.
Earlier, I checked on Comp's site really fast, & their regular steel retainers are ~$55, their Ti are ~$200 more. If I'm spending 4-5x for the functioning part, it's has to do somethin besides deplete my wallet.

Since I was told the LS2 timing chain is an upgrade to our stock chain & a direct swap onto our trucks, maybe someone can enlighten me w./ a GM part number for the timing chain. Anyone?

Apparently it has a few other parts in their 13755-KIT that I won't have to buy to do the cam swap. Good thing I didn't spend $ on parts I already have. I woulda been
Thanks for that link. I'll check it out in detail, but it sounds like a fair deal. I have to gather some more parts to do cam. Just gotta source from a variety of places. I think I'll get a whole cam swap gasket kit from SDPC. Hey, PM me your #, & we can B.S. one of these days.

I may've asked this, but since my truck is an '04, the valve seats & seals are integral according to link AKlow posted for me to read. If not replacing seats, which aren't required on all cam swaps from what I've read, then no need to worry about seals either. Correct?
The seals stop oil from getting down valve sten hole & into intk / or exh port(s).
Or would u guys recommend it?

The valve seals don't seem to be as problematic as they were on older SBC's back in the day, where they would get old and dry out, and you'd get that puff of blue smoke upon first start up in the morning. I'm sure that most guys will say to let them ride, but it's kinda your call on that one Tom. Honestly, if it were me, and I was pushin 100K and had the whole valvetrain apart, I'd probably do the valve seals for some cheap insurance, unless of course a set of valve seals were an excessive amount of dough and I was trying to save a few bucks.
I've also heard that there are two styles of valve seals, one that's built into the seat and one that isn't, just not sure which ones are for which application...

I forget which year it is but they switched from a 2 piece seat/seal to a one piece. they are interchangeable i believe(might want to check on that just to be sure) and gm only sells the one piece now. also unless your pushing high miles i wouldnt even bother messing with them. stay on this site long enough and im sure new heads will be on sooner or later anyway..
I've been on this site longer than my join date, when I would just

It might be later.
