I have beyond hand tools, but I thought I'd need some LS specific stuff. Dowel rods are some of cheapest tools I could buy. I have $ for those in my pocket.

I have everything u mentioned on that list toolwise. Or can get what I don't have. That cool spring compressor that holds 2 at once is all that's missing.

Tom, here are the tools that you wanted me to post pics of...I didn't use these when I did my cam swap, didn't even own them yet. I didn't drop my oil pan though either, not necessary if just swapping the cam and springs, although may help if replacing the oil pump. If just dropping the pan, you can use the bellhousing of the transmission to line the back of the pan up...

For those that have Maggies, are a lot gettin the Magnavolt? Is it something most would recommend?

Cause I'm gonna have to get some things from Magnuson.
So now would be the time. I got to work a little extra, so I can "justify" it.

Your '04 is returnless, right Tom? Did you replace the in-tank pump with the one supplied in the kit? I'm pretty sure you don't need the Magnavolt with that setup.

I've never asked how much boost you're looking for.

I believe it is. I think returnless started in '04. Why, what's up? I haven't done anyhing w/. fuel yet. Or Radix. Magnavolt's greatest way it helps is what?

Boost...I never said. I don't care how much, I just wanna hit low 13's. I prefer a 12.0. I'd do it even if a 50/75 shot helps me get there. And / or meth. I just wanna fix a few peoples' ego. I'll start w/. my bro's Z06.

I spoke w/. both David @ Magnuson & Joe @ LC32. David returned my call w/in 24 hrs. That Blown Chevy didn't return my PM nor my phone call. And that was days ago.

Someone else @ Magnuson said 112 kit gets 5-6# on a 5.3 using factory hdrs. & cats. Above 6# boost, said fuel needs to be addressed. Apparently, 2.8" pulley is smallest u can run. Nets me 10#. Beyond a 2.8" (or that boost level), I'd need an OD pulley from ATI or ...

I talked to David after that salesman scared me w/. how much a V- HX costs.
David said a std. 112 trk kit has a HX that's 23" x 7 1/2".
V is 23 3/4" x 14 3/4". I'd need to make custom brkts. It exits out D side & underneath on same side (Driver's). I'd thought of if GMT900 or TBSS uses a bigger HX, but the surface area is less & has both exits out bottom.

More than likely, I'm gettin a V- HX, a crank pin kit, & a 3" pulley. And, yes, this is before I even put it on. I can't stand fluids leakin all over, so that's why I plan on V HX now. A smaller pulley I'll have on hand & play w/. down the road. The stock size will be fine. I'll keep smaller 1 for track.

3" is the point where things start gettin heatin up w/. little in return (dimishing returns).

I plan to order this stuff before too long.

Joe @ LC32 gave me pricing on an IM setup. I'll keep that idea on standby.

I don't think you will need anything more than the better pump that comes with your new Maggie. Watch your fuel pressure and IDC, if everything is in check, then you are good-to-go.

Did you find a better deal on the HX?

I'd give ya a call, but since I've never talked to ya, I know how it'll play out. Since I love BS'g about trucks, we'll talk for a long time as I do w/. most on here when we start talkin initially.
I don't like to talk on phone, but trucks (or automotive, performance in general) I can talk for hours. An hour isn't uncommon if I get wrapped up in a good converstion.

I'll be tired as can be then. Tomorrow would be better, so I'll call u then. Or call me, I don't wanna wake ya. Later Rog.
