great thread, would love to take a ride in your truck after the install!

What injectors came with that Radix 112?

...looks like tomorrow might be out for hitting Milan Dragway, huh? Weather says storms ALL day.

I see tomorrow being an expen$ive day. I think I'm gonna break down & get me that Crane spring tool.

LS Series Super Duty hardered valve locks are $30. Says it fits all factory LS applications. By that, I guess they mean the 4.8/5.3/6L motors, etc. not somethin else.

ARP super duty cam retainer bolts are $16
ARP s.d. timing gear bolt set adds $14 more.

At $230, I thought of the Edelbrock 2 pc. timing cover, but if I never swap another cam like a Trucker or GT2-3, it'd be a waste since that's money I probably don't need to spend.

All the gaskets I'll just source from ScogginDickey so I don't have to piecemeal.

Beyond that, I gonna make some calls tomorrow on some pushrods. I'm not sure how big of diameter to go but I think .080" wall thickness should do it. In a 7.400" length. Anyone think I should go to a bigger dia.? If so, to what size dia.?
Trend is probably gonna get my biz, but I still gotta check on Smith Bros.

Timing chain, a smart cookie told me a LS2 chain is the way to go & a direct fit upgrade.

That brings me to my next Q:

How many would spring for Ti retainers? I know they're not cheap, but do I stand to gain little or only say 200 more RPM's? I like the lighter valvetrain idea, but if they're gonna wear sooner, I don't want that. I save the $ & stick w/. steel.

Also, what do I go w/. on valvetrain parts, 7° or 10°?

not sure if the status has changed recently, but not too long ago I know the LS2 timing chain was IMPOSSIBlE to get anywhere.

Looked all around the motor city here but turned nothing up, then I thought I had found one at sdpc, ordered it, then ended up recieving some other brand chain instead.... forgot what I ended up putting in there.

I remember calling up thunder racing and texas speed too, and they both had told me their entire stock had been bought out by some giant order from over in dubai or somewhere like that if I remember right.

oh also, just simply curious, why did you feel the need to drop those big bucks on the comp rocker arms too?
If you went that far already, why wouldn't you do the ti retainers?

thats why tom had this underhis bed (it is his *****)

Man you are going way overboard for what you are working with.
spring tool, use mine crappy autozone one...it works, just takes a while to do them one at a time.

cam/timing bolts I would use OE and just make sure you locktite them in.

get the comp push rods, no brainer. you dont need to upgrade the upgraded pushrod.

springs I would check out livernois, they have a dual sping, pretty decent cost but you are suporting a local company.

Dave, thanks for tip on the LS2 timing chain. I hope they're not that hard to find. Somebody has them, it's just at what price. :nunchuk1:

Do ya maybe use an IWIS, I think that's what it is.

On the rockers, I bought a while back, then decided to go FI. As for Ti retainers, While I might be able to score for less, I looked at 1 brand, can't remember who, they wanted $289 for Ti. Here I thought they were $100 less than that.

I figure they're $150-300. For that, am I only gonna have a higher rev capability? That doesn't concern me (how high it revs). But lightening valvetrain mass or quicker rev time, that interests me. But at what cost?

skolman91, I havent put this thing on and ran a 14.20 yet, cause I've been busy w/. work & have decided on to do some other things 1st. It'll happen tho. I sure hope it runs faster than 14.2. :nunchuk1:

So I got a few goodies over the last week. I ordered a Crane Valve spring tool from Vinci on Wed. cause I wanted to be able to have my own & be able to do 2 at once.
Joe, look at what u wrote on the pushrods. Kinda contradictory?
On Thur., I picked up a set of Trend pushrods, 7.400", 5/16" .080" wall. Just like NASCAR runs, only smaller. They're local in case ya didn't know.

Fri., I snagged a Truetrac from DTS, along w/. an install kit. I plan on them doin the install, but wanted to purchase 1/2 of what I needed, to break up the cash outlay in parts. Don't wanna overextend myself.

I don't wanna go anywhere this Tues., considering I got parts everyday.

Anyway, when installed, other than labor cost, I wanna get an alum. driveshaft. I'm still undecided on gears, but may very well get some 3.73s, instead of 4.10s. Breezin thru traps, even in 3rd.

Also, like I said before, the Comp stuff I've had for a bit.
