Are all D1 haedunits the same? If I buy just the head unit used do I have to worry about the rotation of the head or anything. And what should I look for if I go look at a used head unit.

check shaft for end play, impeller for damage, spin it buy hand
and listen for bad bearings,

So all D1’s will work with our trucks. Mine is a 6.2 denali

I found one off a 99 cobra. It’s a D1 head unit only that was rebuilt in 2015 that has about 1500 miles in it.

Maybe drain the oil too and see how that looks....

Well I read the add wrong and it's a P1 not a D1 but for the deal I'm getting I'm going to to go head and get it since it has low miles since the rebuild.

This is not an all out race build so I figure any boost is better than NO boost.

If it was reconditioned in 2015 it should be up to date right. Any reply would be great I’m going tomorrow after work to look at it.
