Default bov ?

well i am putting a intercooler on my whipple s/c and have been looking at piping kits. alot of the kits have bov's that come with them. i was just curiouse if i would be able to use it or if i should ditch it. i am going to block off the bypass on the whipple so i was just curiouse if this would work. THNX!

that is what i was curiouse about. i would think that it would work but i don't know if anyone has thought of trying it before. being that they both produce boost i would think the bov would work the same for a s/c as it does for a turbo.

The boost is not produced the same way though, with a blower when you let off the gas your blower immediately decreases speed with rpm. With a turbo it takes a second or so. Also if you are looking at the ebay piping kits you will most likely find that the couplers and clamps are crap. Just some FYI.

Also on your whipple your bypass valve opens as soon as you let off which also bleeds off the boost.

Does your whipple push or pull through the throttle? Usually the BOV lets out extra pressure that is created when you shut the throttle and the turbo is still making boost. If you are "pulling" through the throttle I don't think you would need a BOV.

You dont actually eliminate the by pass, you just eliminate whipples shitty electronic control that they use and use vaccum to control it. You have to have the by pass on there.....
