Hello all,

This is my first turbo build and I have a few questions I have tried to search the best I could but with so many different threads and different opinions I am having a hard time narrowing down my options.

Setup is a 04 5.3 SBE 706 heads with ARP head bolts, ls6 intake (which I might opt back for the truck intake unsure as of right now, BW S475 75/83 T4 1.10 ar, 4l80e 3200 stall converter, 342 gears. I will be fabbing my own hot side with a log on the passenger side and a forward facing truck manifold on the driver side. Shooting for 550-600 whp to start.

My biggest questions are

What wastegate size should I run? I am getting answers anywhere from 38mm-50mm

What size BOV? I was looking at 50mm?

Guys building there own logs are you just building them out of mild steel? I was looking to build mine out of stainless steel 304l schedule 10.

I am open to any and all info you guys wanna post this is my first turbo build and I wanna try and steer clear of as many headaches as possible.

I run one of KBs kits and his comes with a 40mm JGS wastegate and thats worked good for me. As for the BOV Ive got the cheapest ebay 50 mm tial knock off that has worked fine for me. I just had to trim the spring a little to get it to open when it should

 

I prefer a large gate mounted under turbo, i typically run large gates and experience no boost creep

I builld logs out of sch10 these days using 347 filler
