Corey I thought the HPFP was the same on the 6.2 and 5.3 just not same as the LT4. Also gotta remove the blower and manifold I guess to replace it? Think Id rather kill myself!!! LT4 injectors would be an easy upgrade though along with a pulley I'm leaning towards that route, unless I'm just not thinking straight from the damn heat! Thoughts?

Man its freaking great to see some 2.9's on here now!
I would like to see some logged IAT's with the old and new I/C pumps. Heat soak on air/water systems was a big issue many years ago on a lot of cars.

Sidenote: A fella on HPT forum gave me the stock whipple tune and a supposedly tweaked tune with 3.875orsmaller sc pulley??

My son's tuner kit came with parts for a 6.2, so we got a throttle body from a
6.2L (91mm vs 80mm) and a 3 bar map sensor breakout harness

Anyhow the whipple tune guy told me that whipple left a lot on the table with their supplied tune.

My project starts at the end of the month, so I'll get back with some results if we don't blow it up...lol

Rumor has it that a stock 5.3L should be good for 550-600 rwhp on the stock fuel system....will see....

I was told the same for the 6.2L, from couple well respected Vette tuners.

I hear ya on that one! I can remember details from 40-50 yrs ago and not remember if I ate lunch later in the day! Still gonna be a bit longer for me but I'm really glad to see you doing this. Do you think the pump will keep up ok? What did all that stuff cost you in parts? Really appreciate you sharing!

injectors from L86 $250, LT4 cam $140, beehive springs (PAC 1210's I think?), good to .600" lift $150, unrestricted fuel line $120 (not sure that it was needed)

Look up KB's build, for p/n's and where to buy.

In that the whipple tune cam with max hpfp pressure set to 30 MPA, and I am now down to oem (21.5 mpa) I think it will hang in. If I had the lash cap, I might have done that as well. for my power goals, I hope I will be fine.

toughest part of the job is getting the balancer bolt off. Home depot air compressor with 4cfm at 90 psi, 700+ ft. lbs torque impact gun and 3/8" air hose with no fittings finally did the job
